An early recollection of Ann dates back to when she was at Teacher Training College. Later I was best man to Tony at their wedding, a partnership I judged then would last a long time and so it proved. We all have remained close friends with Ann often acting as a wonderful hostess. Her last words to me early on in her illness were “ Onward and Upwards”. To me this is her epitaph. “ Rest in Peace “ dear Ann. Christopher
From the moment I met Ann 67 years ago I knew we would have a lifelong friendship. We have many memories that we have shared some sad , most happy. Seeing in the New Year with Ann and Tony was a delight. She was talented, family orientated always eager to hear news of our family. Above all she was a loyal friend and incredibly brave in the face of adversity. Sleep well Ann I feel blessed to have known you. Love Helen. X

Aunty’ Ann played an important part in my life from my arrival in the world 61 years ago. She stayed with my Mum (and Dad) throughout a difficult labour, only leaving to feed her own son Mark and returning shortly after I was born.
She deservedly became my loving Godmother and she and Tony, Louise and Mark played a big part of our lives when I was growing up.
She was extremely strong, brave, loving & caring and exceptionally talented in so many ways. I will cherish fond memories of her. God Bless you Aunty Ann

Since posting our tribute to Ann, Christopher and I have found this delightful photograph of the four of us at our 40th Wedding Anniversary Party. Another wonderful memory of a very special friendship.

My memories of Aunty Ann include many happy days spent together as 2 families bound by the longevity of my parent’s deep friendship. She was a consummate host and even on my visit before Christmas the china tea cups were out ready.
One of my lasting memories will be her incredible bravery facing her illness possessing the v rare, selfless quality of wanting to continue life as normal without the focus being on herself. She was always quick to enquire about my family as well as talking about her own.
Rest now in peace knowing how much you were loved.
