Hi Jo, Oscar and Lucian,
Alan was a very positive person, and I enjoyed working with him over the years. He was highly respected for his knowledge and passion in work, as well as his prowess on the football pitch. He was dedicated to you all, and always proud to talk about what you were doing or learning. We will miss him every day.
Love and God bless,
Damian
Alan – looked after me when I first started playing football with the RWE lot, lovely bloke and true gent. Will be sadly missed.

A great guy who lit up the control room with every visit with his enthusiastic attitude, a massive loss to us all, the world was a better place with you in it.
A standout memory of Alan for me was from the time we played football together in a tournament in Nottingham (over 20 years ago now! and first time I met him) when I worked for the Research Councils. I think Dave brought him in as a ringer to strengthen our NERC team, which he totally did! (great player).
He managed to cross one of the most impressive balls from around 40 yards from one side of the pitch to the area and land it perfectly on my toe! Incredible assist, and there’s video evidence on Facebook… so it really did happen! So sad to learn the news today, sending my thoughts and condolences…
Souchy was one of the nicest people I have met in my life and he is a great loss to this world. He will be missed.
You will be missed, rest in peace.
It was an honour and a pleasure to have known Alan – he will be greatly missed.
Souchy was a funny, kind and warm person that always had time to stop and talk with you. He was always a positive influence on our football sessions and not just through his superb left foot.
Souchy will be sorely missed by all.
I am so sad to here of the passing of Alan, I worked with him on and off for many years and found him always helpful. Recently sitting next to him when I visit Swindon office where we discuss family and fitness. It was a real pleasure and I will be thinking of you.
It was a privilege to have known you Alan, one of life’s very best, taken far too soon.
Your memory will live on in your boys and the many memories we all have of your witty remarks, your ability to reel off any line from Friends and your love of food!
Rest peacefully, you will be so very missed xx
It’s so sad writing these words and realizing that Alan is no longer with us anymore. He will be sorely missed by all those that knew him – a fine man, colleague, husband and father. Sending much love xx
Such a great loss, Alan will be sorely missed and always remembered.
My sincere condolences to all of Alan’s family.
Rest in peace Al. You were a top lad and it was a pleasure to have known you. Thanks for all your help at work through the last few years and all the football trip memories.
Gone too soon but will never be forgotten.
It was a pleasure to know Alan, we were very fond of him. Taken far too soon. Thinking of Jo, the boys and his family at this very sad time.
Love,
Rosie & Steve.
Alan was a great bloke who carried our Dorcan 6 side team to many a win with some fantastic goals and assists. Always willing and able to keep us all organised too.
I use a lot of my memories to help develop my 8 year old son who is working on getting somewhere near his ability with his left foot.
He will be missed and never forgotten
Simon
