Lucy, you are a dear friend and I will miss you xx

There are so many happy memories of Lucy I shall always have – innumerable precious moments of our time at Bath University — copying from Lucy’s neatly written notes during lectures (not sure how she managed to do that!) , travelling to our student holiday breaks to Cornwall and Scotland in Dave’s mini or Sam’s Fiat 500 (not sure how we managed that either) and so many lunches, dinners, picnics and parties – too many to mention. Memorable moments during our year abroad – to Lucy’s in Mulhouse and the amazing Easter break to Florence, Rome, Vesuvius (squeezed into Julia’s Renault 4 , patiently following Martin’s Deux Chevaux). We followed our subsequent lives, and careers and all kept in touch as we met our partners, attended our weddings and rejoiced in the births of all of our wonderful, beautiful children. And we all continued our deep friendships meeting through the years, our bonds never diminished. Our group will soon have one of our occasional reunions and we will raise our glasses to dear Lucy, sad she is absent, but so happy she became, and will remain, part of our lives.

We were both very sorry to hear about this. I knew Lucy as a parent as well as through my job at a local playgroup. Together we know her brother Pete. We send our condolences to her family.

I am so sad but I will keep fond memories of Lucy all the way back to VTS days.
