A Funeral Service and Wake in our Kingshill Service Room gives you the opportunity to say goodbye to your loved in the beautiful setting of Kingshill House. You can create a unique and personal send-off in our private service room, without the need to visit the crematorium.
Our unique Service Room is one of a kind in Swindon. You can host a private service out of the public eye, which is just not possible at the crematorium. The room, just like the rest of Kingshill House, has been carefully renovated and includes many original features.
It can hold up to 40 people and is yours to personalise as you wish to create a truly unique send off for your loved one.
And you can also use our Wake Room after the service for a more relaxed and informal gathering of family and friends.
A Service and Wake at Kingshill House can also be significantly cheaper than a crematorium service and a wake at another venue.
Kingshill House is located in Old Town, Swindon. The historic building has been recently renovated and has plenty of on-site parking.
The Service Room is situated downstairs and features big sash windows, and an original fireplace and parquet flooring.
The room can be traditionally set up with rows of cushioned seating, or in cabaret style with the seating arranged around clothed round tables.
We will bring the coffin into the room prior to your arrival, and the room can be personalised as you wish with flowers, photographs and any other items.
The service can be officiated by a Minister or a Civil Celebrant. Or if you wish the service can be entirely led by the family.
The room includes Webcasting facilities, so mourners who are not able to attend the service in person can still witness the service.
There is also a TV screen to display any photos or play any video footage you wish to pay tribute to the life and achievements of your loved one.
And there are no time restrictions in our service room, so unlike a service at a crematorium where you are limited to 30 minute slots, you can take all the time you need to say your goodbyes.
Our Wake Room is a separate room, also located at the top of Kingshill House.
This is a private space, elegantly decorated in a peaceful and relaxed setting.
With no need to travel from the crematorium to a separate venue for the wake, you and your family can relax and say farewell in the private setting of Kingshill House.
The room can be dressed how you wish and we can play music and play any video tributes so you really can create an atmosphere that suits your individual needs and wishes.
We can also provide catering an refreshments for a Service and Wake at Kingshill House.
Tea and coffee can be provided before the service if you wish.
And a selection of sandwiches, wraps, cakes, pastries and fruit can be provided. All food is made freshly on the morning of the service and is supplied by Prospect Hospice, which is also another great way to support a local charity.
