Unfortunately we can’t attend but on the day we will stand on a local headland and raise an appropriate glass to say bon voyage to a true gentleman.

Our paths crossed over a period of about 55 years,we both had the same interests, anything powered by steam also canals and most other forms of transport especially aircraft.Always a cheerful friend we had some long chats over the phone which usually came to end when a customer called into his shop.Ken is now no longer there,I will miss him,no more phone chats.

Very very sorry to hear the sad news. It seems to have been so sudden, but having moved house I sadly lost touch with you both. I will always remember you and your kindness and do hope to talk to you soon, Fran

I have known you since I was a child; popping into your shop to buy sweets. As a teenager I used to sell you cigarettes as I had a weekend job in the cash and carry and as an adult, you have been the ‘go to’ for recommending which whisky I should buy my husband. You were never wrong with your recommendations. You were always friendly, with a special sparkle about you. You gave my Dad support and kindness when he reached the latter part of his life. My whole family speak fondly of you. I am incredibly sorry to hear that you have left us and that you have been unwell. Sending my deepest sympathy, thoughts and best wishes to your family.
