My heart hurts for your family rest in peace Sean
Sean was a quiet man, very often appearing to be thinking, perhaps that’s it he was a thinker! Whenever Sean carried out a job or task it was always at the same pace i.e. gently, gently, catch monkey, as the saying goes. He started work on the council back in the 1980’s as a young man of 17 or 18,passed his City and Guilds in horticulture and became a qualified gardener. He quickly rose to a supervisory position working over at Walcot and finally ended up at Town Gardens because they needed to improve the park and Sean was always more a gardener than just a litter picker. He loved his radio, he loved driving the tractor and his favourite chair. His work colleagues liked working with him and never had a bad word to say about him and he never has a negative opinion of others. Sean was looking forward to a retirement where perhaps he would do part time work just to keep his oar in and sadly he didn’t quite make it. We will all miss having him around and Town garden park will just not be the same without him, God bless you Sean, rest in peace and keep a watchful eye on the different flower beds that you have spent hours upon hours looking after with dedicated care and attention..
Great memories of when you went on holiday to Crete with me and and 6 other lads.
Sean was a very good gardener and he loved his work at the Town Gardens.
I will miss going up to see him and having a chat and a laugh.
Kevin
My heart has broken ?
Sean was a lovely man we had great years living next door to him and his family thinking of you all at this sad time ?
So sad to hear if Sean’s passing. Our sincere condolences to Sean’s family and friends. We will think of him fondly each time we walk through the Old Town gardens that he worked so hard to keep beautiful for us all to enjoy. Pesky Pooch enjoyed Sean’s friendly attentions too.
We will all miss his smile. Jeff, Gale and Pesky Pooch.
