A very special person, with a big heart,
Gone are the times we used to share they were special.

Sadly, I won’t be able to attend Walter’s funeral but will mark time at 1100 to remember him. Always a positive force, Walter lit up a room with his presence. I was fortunate enough to share a few career highlights with him and fondly remember him breaking the news of my promotion to flight sergeant and thus, my escape from High Wycombe. He also was a firm supporter of my quest to earn a commission and was the first to congratulate me when I succeeded – even making sure that he provided an umbrella of support by inviting me to his station as a ‘holding officer’ after IOT.
We all have a lot to thank Walter for and he will not be forgotten. RIP dear friend.
